Carpet to Laminate Flooring Plus a Full Kitchen Refresh

Old carpet has a way of making a whole house feel dated. It holds onto odors, it mats down, and no matter how much you clean it, it never quite looks fresh. That's exactly what we were dealing with here - worn green carpet throughout the bedroom areas, sitting on top of subfloor that needed to be prepped before anything new could go down.

We pulled everything up, got the subfloor clean and level, and then laid out new laminate from wall to wall. The finished product is a warm, wood-look laminate with a natural oak grain pattern - the kind of floor that works with almost any furniture style. Clean shoe molding along every baseboard ties it all together and gives the edges a finished, professional look.

The kitchen got its own set of upgrades too. The old coil cooktop and basic vent hood were swapped out for a Thor range with a smooth glass cooktop surface and a fresh matching vent hood above it. A new white Blanco double-basin sink and brushed nickel faucet replaced the old setup - a small change that makes a big daily difference when you're actually using the space.

What we love about a job like this is how the individual pieces work together. The flooring flows from room to room, the kitchen feels cleaner and more modern, and the whole home has a cohesion that wasn't there before. None of it required a gut renovation - just the right upgrades in the right places.
